This might be a time of year where you're looking for, oh, some
different ways to soothe, level, motivate, energize yourself and
otherwise get on top of your cascading emotions. The EQ
Foundation Course© ( http://www.webstrategies.cc/EQcourse.htm )
emphasizes the great arts as an adjunct to Emotional
Intelligence, though the not-so-great are helpful too. May we
suggest?
1. Need to get solidly centered
Like, as the metaphysicians say, when you vision yourself
growing a tail and having it grow ...

Since September 11th although tempers have flared, depression
has increased and sleeplessness has become an unwelcome visitor
to many, committed relationships have not faltered and divorce
filings have declined. Why is this? Even though people are
stressed and often wind up fighting with their husband, wife or
significant other, something positive has also occurred. People
realize that they need each other and that life really is too
hard to do alone. They need the security of their valued ...

Big time success is indeed a big thing and can't be easily
achieved.
Remember when you have a baby in the house? Isn't it that mama
and papa cheered for the little child when he was learning to
walk and doing baby steps? They love to see it. Why, because
they see progress. Before, all the baby does is lie down and cry
when hungry. Then the little child can sit, crawl, stand, and
now as if miraculously, he takes a step or two before loosing
balance to fall on papa's arms!
One morning after my ...

Once in a while, I receive wisdom on the human condition from a
specific aspect of nature. These direct transmissions have
consistently helped me weather the changing tides of fortune and
emotion in my life.
It was a crystalline winter afternoon. I was walking with my
friend Ted through the snow seeking solace from the fatigue and
despair we were feeling about the seemingly endless stream of
challenges in our ...

Halloween never has been my favorite holiday. As a kid, growing
up on the farm, trick-or-treating meant getting in and out of
the car (often on very cold nights) and wearing coats over our
costumes. I certainly liked the candy, but it never made much
sense to me.
As a father, I must admit I have warmed to the holiday, but I
still have a problem with all the focus on witches and ghouls
and such. A holiday that focuses on scary things still bothers
me just a little bit. I've been pleased that my ...

The Power of Impractical Ideas
When thinking about success in life, I asked myself what is the
main thing that has held me back. If you had to trace all your
major successes and failures, what is the one thing that you
feel caused the difference between succeeding and failing?
If you really look deep inside yourself, you will realise one
surprising thing. It is: you have probably had many ideas on how
to improve your life. If you are anything like me, though, you
probably never made a start on ...

Last week we left off with: "I did not realize what was
happening in my head that night. It would take another 20 years
for me to understand or even suspect the process. But yet it
happens. And it happens for everyone. "

You can even learn to make this happen by your own habits.

Last week we left off with: "Sales went great all week. And then
it happened. A life altering event."

I came out one morning to set up my stand and 3 houses down
little Tommy had his own Koolaid stand. And it loomed ominous
for the stand had been purchased and shipped in via mail order.
It was perfect in every way with decorations, sign, and
graphics.
I stood in front of it in awe but also ...

This may come as a surprise... but many marketers are so busy,
they don't have time to get to the next level.
Direct marketers are busy people. But sometimes you can be too
busy for your own good.
So busy in fact that you fail to see the opportunities to move
up a level in your career.
